Bogor Botanical Gardens was founded by a German botanist, Prof.. Dr. C. G. C Reinwadt in 1817. Here there are approximately 20,000 species of plants, consisting of various plants from home and abroad, including orchids and cacti. This garden is also equipped with libraries, laboratories, and the Museum of Zoology.
Inside this garden you can see the famous giant flower (Amorphophalus titanum Beccari) known as the corpse flower, because it smelled of corpses planted in 1912 as many as 11 trees, derived from forests of Sumatra and found by experts from Italy named Beccari Botany .
Botanical Garden was originally a palace page though now both sites have been separated. Even so, tourists can still see the elegant palace with a large gold-colored dome. This botanical garden also offers you to feel the shade of a row of walnut trees that are along the road and saw a bat in a big old tree, and saw a squirrel jumping from one tree to another.
Your visit to the city of Bogor would not be complete without a visit to the Botanical Gardens, so do not forget to come and enjoy the atmosphere of a green and fresh offers.
