Ethnobotany museum was inaugurated in 1982 by prof. DR. BJ. Habibie. Therein has more than 2,000 artifacts and various dioramas utilization ethnobotany flora. The idea of ​​establishing this museum was first coined in 1962 by prof. Sarwono Prawiroharjo (the late) who at the time was Chairman of LIPI. Ethnobotany is the science that studies the use of plants by a particular tribe or nation to the interests of the everyday. This museum aims to preserve the flora and diverse culture of Indonesia as well as a means of information about the scope of ethnobotany.
