Museum Overview

Mosquito Museum Loka office complex located in Research and Development of Disease Control Sourced Animals (R & D P2B2)-Ciamis. Background with the idea that infectious disease vector mosquitoes is still a heavy burden for most tropical countries, including Indonesia. Diseases transmitted through mosquito bites, such as dengue fever, malaria, filariasis and chikungunya is endemic in many parts of Indonesia and claimed thousands of lives every year. Therefore, the people of Indonesia should be made aware of the existence and danger of mosquitoes.

Mosquito Museum built on a land area of ​​2.000 m2 and equipped with other facilities such as House Cinema (theater Mosquito), multimedia room, and space Souvenirs, which construction for 3 years from 2006-2008. The museum was inaugurated by Governor of West Java, H. Ahmad Heryawan on August 19, 2009. Opening of the Museum and Theater Mosquitoes are expected to become an icon of scientific tourism and to facilitate access to Research and Development Research and Development for the results of research conducted during this successful and efficient.

The presence of this mosquito museum at least able to help people who want to know and learn about the mosquito as a whole. Visitors can recognize the various phases of the development of mosquitoes.
